Cloud Cities: mise-en-Aéroscène
For more than two decades, Tomás Saraceno has produced a body of work that embraces interconnectedness across ecosystems, at the intersection of art, architecture, and the social sciences. His projects dialogue with forms of life and life-forming, rethinking dominant threads of knowledge in the Capitalocene era and recognizing how diverse modes of being engage a multiplicity of vibrations on the webs of life.
At the Tripostal, Tomás Saraceno composes a mise-en-Aéroscène from the works of the Vanhaerents Art Collection, that comprise part of his long-standing artistic inquiry, Cloud Cities. Inspired by the complex, multiscalar structures of spider/webs, soap bubbles, molecules and the cosmic web, Cloud Cities reveals a utopian urbanism for speculative and realizable models for sustainable life on Earth, in response to the ecological problems facing our world, climate change, and the depletion of natural resources.
