This event formed part of Brazil’s activities during its 2024 G20 Summit, organized by the Brazilian Ministry of Culture in cooperation with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI).
During the panel discussion “Climate Crisis, a Crisis of Imagination” Saraceno was in conversation with Alison Tickell, the founder of Julie’s Bicycle; Kumi Naidoo, a South African human rights and environmental justice activist; Karina Kolbrun Larsen, head of the Entertainment and Culture for Climate Action Alliance (ECCA) at the UNFCCC, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change; and Marcele Oliveira, a cultural producer, communicator, and climate activist.
In the words of Margareth Menezes, Minister of State for Culture of Brazil, “through the seminar ‘Radical Creativity: Art and Experimentation for New Futures’, we want to highlight the fundamental role of culture in addressing climate change, offering innovative responses and discussing ways to support the cultural sector in mitigating and adapting to the challenges of climate change.”
