Seven on Seven (7×7), the iconic art and technology program, pairs leading artists with visionary technologists and tasks them with a simple challenge: make something new. The results are presented at a public, experiential conference.
Presented by Rhizome with the New Museum, the 2024 edition focused on AI and was co-organized by Michael Connor, Co-Executive Director of Rhizome, and Xinran Yuan, independent curator and producer. 7×7 2024 drew together creative pairings from across disciplines, inviting them to consider how AI may alter our understanding of love, humor, and improvisation; biology, politics, and histories.
Tomás Saraceno collaborated with Harry Halpin, CEO and co-founder of Nym Technologies, a startup building a decentralized mixnet to end mass surveillance. Together, they presented ideas for a new fair internet, and visitors were invited to contribute their drawings and written ideas to together imagine how a more eco-social and just internet would operate.
